Dear Stuttgarters,

this was my last weekend in The Hague, after I finished my new work Thin Skin on Friday. The last rehearsal was with Jorge Nozal, who many of you might still know from Stuttgart.

I have been working on this choreography for five weeks and only on Wednesday I will find out if I have captured everything I have been looking for. It’s the unsettling part of my work that every piece starts at zero. There is no experience in the search for the invisible. For weeks everything revolves around those ca. 30 minutes and at the premiere they go by so fast. I hope the power of all the wonderful dancers that I felt in the studio will transfer to the stage. On Wednesday it’s time to say “toi toi toi Nederlands Dans Theater”; on Thursday on my way back I will already be thinking about Stuttgart and Le Chant du Rossignol.

Yours, Marco
