Hi everyone!

Greetings from Tokyo :) I am happy to be back in this wild city after our tour in November. I am here to stage my piece “Are you as big as me?” for the Ballet Gala performances of NBS (Japan’s Performing Arts Foundation), called “Princes of the Ballet”. At the same time I am also choreographing the opening and the finale of the ballet gala.

I am working here with the ballet stars Daniil Simkin, Leonid Sarafanov, Daniel Camargo, Maria Kochetkova, Sarah Lamb, Vladimir Shklyarov and Edward Watson. I am really excited! It is a big challenge and it means a lot of work in a short amount of time. But I have to say that even though the dancers are big stars, they are very nice and working really hard. I am hoping that everything is going to go well at the Friday premiere and the three following shows. At the same time I think of my colleagues and the staff at the Stuttgart Ballet. I am hoping that they can still find a lot of energy for the upcoming exciting program before the end of the season. Good luck! – I am looking forward to be back soon and to be a part of it as well! :-)

To our lovely audience and fans,

we are writing to you from BAM, the Brooklyn Academy of Music Opera House in  New York. We’re here for the Youth America Grand Prix Gala „Stars of today meet stars of tomorrow“ where Daniel performed the Solo Firebreather that I created for him, as well as the Diana and Actaeon pas de deux with a soloist of the American Ballet Theatre.

As you can see we are already at the party because Daniel just finished his performance. The show was great and the audience loved the performance. Today, on April 29th it will be performed again so if any of you Stuttgarters are here in New York we will be happy to see you.

With love

Katarzyna and Daniel

Hi Everbody!

I am here in Amsterdam where I am performing with the Het National Ballet in Wayne Eagling’s The Nutcracker. I am dancing with Anna Tsygankova for the first time, which is really fun. The city is great – all decorated for Christmas, which really puts me in the mood for this great ballet!

See you soon in Stuttgart.

Daniel

JAPAN // NOVEMBER 2015 (Day 15)

The "snowbound" theatre in Sapporo!

The “snowbound” theatre in Sapporo!

Dear tour diary readers!

Today we send you a snowy “hello” from Sapporo … After our last performance in Toyko (the third Onegin with the dream couple Anna Osadcenko and Jason Reilly in the lead roles!) we traveled to the Island Hokkaido in the north of Japan. The journey took longer than we all thought, as nobody expected it to snow so much! Sapproro is covered in almost 50 centimetres of snow …

We only have a short “stopover” in Sapporo. Tonight is already the performance of Romeo and Juliet – with some exciting debuts: Miriam Kacerova and Constantine Allen will dance the star-crossed lovers Juliet and Romeo for the first time; the other debuts are Robert Robinson as Tybalt and Martí Fernandez Paixa as Paris. So a huge toi toi toi for all of them!

Tomorrow we will travel on to Osaka, our last stop for this tour …
